Vietnam will build more deep-water port.

Vietnam will build a deep water port to many countries direct shipping to foreign markets instead of transiting Singapore, Malaysia and Korea. Ministry of Transport and Maritime Administration of Vietnam has been directed to focus on building deep water ports. Priority will be given to the complex Lach Huyen port in Hai Phong, and the port complex at Cai Mep and Ben Dinh in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province in five years. Ministry of Transport will invest in ports and container ports in Cai Mep general, and Ben Dinh Sao Mai in Vung Tau, southern gateway of the country. In mid-March, the first deep-water container ports of the country, Tan Cang Cai Mep, was built in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, allowing the Vietnam enterprises transport goods directly to the U.S. and Europe, 7-10 days to cut journey. In addition, Vietnam also plans to open a container shipping route linking the Mekong Delta and Cambodia.
